Wine for the Weekend of 12/20/19
Cava is the Wine for the Weekend of 12/20/19
The reason I chose Cava as the wine for the weekend of 12/20/19 is because it is the holidays. Cava is sparkling wine from Spain. I recommend Freixenet. Otherwise, it is known as the black bottle bubbly. That makes it easy to find in the sparkling wine section. And, you can find it for $8-$11. Being from Europe, it competes as it is as good as most wines that are 2-3 times its price. Also, you can make Mimosas as well with half orange juice! It is pronounced fresh-en-NEIGH!
Cava Wines
Of course, there are more choices out there. I will give a few to pick from. Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut which means black and dry. You don’r want your sparklers to be sweet. Try it and give me some feedback. Segura Viudos makes a cava at the same price as Freixenet around $9. Also, they make a nice Reseva Heridad for about $26-$28. Juve Y Camps brut is about $14. I can not preach this enough, but to buy wines from outside the U.S. You always get a better deal and almost always a better wine. The U.S. in not in the market of selling affordable good wines. They are selling silly labels with pot luck inside!
