White Zinfandel Is Barely Better Than Grape Juice
Are You Still Drinking White Zinfandel?
White Zinfandel Is Barely Better Than Grape Juice. There are too many GOOD wines in the world to waste your time with it. You might as well drink grape juice and vodka. White zinfandel was discovered by accident by Sutter Home. They made a fortune on it, because Americans were mostly beer and hard liquor drinkers at the time. And, they fell in love with it because it was sweet and easy to please. The good news is that it brought a lot of people who do not drink wine into the wine world. But, I would not be doing my job if I did not try to transition a person to something else. If I can not tear you away from it, try Beringer white zinfandel. They are one of the best!
Alternatives to White Zinfandel
White zinfandel is a nice entry wine. Do not get too attached. Instead, I usually offer moscato d’Asti. Then, I usually transition people to riesling or pinot grigio, because they are fruity. And, that connects with the sweetness of white zinfandel or moscato d’Asti. White zinfandel was discovered when making a dry version of it. And, a batch stopped fermenting which is called stuck fermentation. It leaves unfermented sugar. Instead of adding more yeast, they decided to bottle it. And, the rest was history. See below some nice wines in in which to transition.
Schlink Haus Riesling Alois Lageder Pinot Grigio

Eye of the Swan was the first “pink” wine from red grapes. Don’t remember the vintner.
Thanks for reading my post. it was about white zinfandel. Eye of the Swan is a rose. Also, pink wines have been around for centuries. https://www.guildsomm.com/public_content/features/articles/b/victoria-james/posts/rose
