Spanish Sangria Wine Is The Real Thing To Love
Spanish Sangria Wine Is The Real Thing To Love
Why Spanish? Because, it was invented in the Rioja region. Therefore, it was traditionally made with tempranillo grapes and infused fruit flavors. Today, Sangria is being made with other red grapes as well. You can buy any red wine and try any concoction that you google. However, why not buy the real thing from Spain and add whatever fruit you like? You don’t have to flavor it or add sugar. It’s ready to go in the bottle. Buy any brand that your liquor store carries from Spain. Sangria is a great summer wine so go Spanish.
It is the only wine to which it is okay to add ice. For those of you who like to put ice in your wine, freeze grapes to use as ice cubes. Green grapes are for white wines and red grapes for red wines. This is a fun wine, especially for label lovers! See the above label comparison of two Spanish Sangrias. They probably taste similar, but every winery has their own recipe for the infused fruit tastes. You can add any mixture of fruit. I find chopped apples work nicely, along with grapes and orange slices.
Rioja Region
Rioja is where the wine began years ago. It is a small region known for its excellent wines made from tempranillo grapes. The same grapes are used to make Sangria. I am not the best at picking up all the aromas and flavors of wine, but I never miss the cinnamon flavor at the finish of a tempranillo red wine. The map shows the most prominent wine regions of Spain which include Ribera del Duoro, Penedes and Sherry. The Spanish love their Sherry which comes in all sorts of varieties. I buy it for cooking because it is delicious in sauteed mushrooms. The other regions are known for great red wines as well.
