Interview with Marc Supsic – An Outstanding Wine Rebel
Marc Supsic’s Wine Living
Interview with Marc Supsic – An Outstanding Wine Rebel. A while ago, I met Marc on Facebook. We quickly hit off as wine friends probably because we agree on a bunch of things. One of which is ensuring that wine education and knowledge can be taught in relaxing and laid back ways. So I thought an interview with Marc Supsic would be a great idea for a post. My goal is to teach the average American about wine via my blog posts. Marc’s goal is the same, but he takes more of a hands on approach. He embraces wine and food together and makes it part of his everyday life. That’s why Marc calls his blog and Facebook page “Marc Supsic’s Wine Living!”
About Marc
Up until about 2001, Marc was an average American who enjoyed his beer. Then one day, he visited a winery and everything changed. He had his wine epiphany. It’s like falling in love truly. And just like love, not everybody gets it. Marc decided to make it his mission to share what he has learned. So much so, that he decided to leave the corporate world and focus on Marc Supsic’s Wine Living and his web design talents to make a living.
Education
And Marc has learned a lot. He decided to take the difficult course on wine and spirits and received his diploma from WSET in 2012. Also, Marc likes cocktails, cooking and wine travelling. He is a media host, producer and business owner and has produced over 180 videos about wine, spirits, food and culture. Click here to go to his Youtube channel. That’s a lot of videos! In addition, Marc has led wine events and tastings for thousands of people at all levels of experience. His ultimate gratification is seeing someone new fall in love with wine!
Marc’s Events
Marc offers wine tastings and some miscellaneous events such as spending a weekend at a B&B with meals paired with wines. This is a great way to make friends with people who like wine. In addition, you will learn a lot about food and wine. The best part of having an interview with Marc Supsic is that I learned some new things too!
For wine tastings, Marc will come to your house with the wine and food that pairs nicely. He will work with you on a wine theme if desired. Your event can be small to large groups. All you have to do is provide friends who like wine and provide glasses with stems. Lastly, he is working on ideas for travelling to a wine destination with a group of people. I can’t wait for that!
Q&A With Marc Supsic 4/28/19
- Frank: What is your favorite white wine? Marc: I like French Burgundy because it’s delicious and pairs well with food.
- Frank: Your favorite red wine? Marc: I like malbec, but specifically from Cahors, France where malbec originated. Nowadays, it is most popular from Argentina
- Frank: What is your favorite New World wine? Marc: I like pinot noir from Oregon. New world wines are places that are relatively newer to wine such as N. and S. Americas, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
- Frank: What is your favorite food and wine pairing? Marc: I like duck confit (or any duck dish) with malbec from Cahors, France.
- Frank: What was your favorite wine trip? Marc: I enjoyed my visit to the Burgundy region of France. This is where you can find some of the best chardonnays, pinot noirs and of course, Champagne.
- Frank: How do you make learning about wine in a fun, relaxed way? Marc: One way is through “gamification.” Basically, I use online marketing techniques to encourage engagement in a laid back manner. Also, I don’t go over people’s houses and start spitting out wine knowledge which would bore people to death. Instead, I meld into the crowd as if I’m a guest and incorporate fun into the evening.
I enjoyed my interview with Marc Supsic immensely. If you would like to contact Marc or learn more about his Wine Living, click here. Also, check out his Facebook page titled Marc Supsic’s Wine Living and please “Like” it, then share it with your friends.
