I once heard at a wine tasting that Napoleon so loved a particular wine – “Clos de Bees” – (forgive me if I misspelled it) – that he conquered the world so he could guarantee his supply.
I know he liked wines from the Chambertin region of Burgundy which is essentially Pinot Noir. Good story!
